Rafeiro do Alentejo

The Rafeiro do Alentejo is a large, powerful Portuguese breed originally designed to hunt and guard. Known for their calm and loyal nature, they are highly protective of their families and territories but are not inherently aggressive. Their strong protective instincts make them excellent watchdogs and guardians for livestock and rural estates. Originally bred to work with migratory herds, they are adaptable to various environments and schedules, though they require considerable space to roam and exercise.
