Bred For: Small vermin hunting
The Miniature Pinscher is a lively and elegant breed known for its spirited nature and high-stepping "hackney" gait. Originating in Germany, it is believed to have descended from crosses between German Pinschers, Dachshunds, and Italian Greyhounds. With a short, smooth coat that requires minimal grooming, they are active dogs that thrive on exercise and mental stimulation. Their confident and independent personalities make them good watchdogs, but they can be challenging to train due to their stubbornness. Despite this, they are affectionate towards their families and can make excellent companions for experienced dog owners.
