The Japanese Spitz is a small to medium-sized companion breed known for its elegant white coat and fox-like appearance. Developed in Japan in the 1920s, they are intelligent, playful, and loyal dogs that thrive on human contact and attention. Japanese Spitzes are excellent family dogs, particularly for families with children, due to their gentle temperament and high degree of affection. They require moderate exercise, which includes daily walks and play sessions. Recognized by their distinctive barking behavior when alerting to strangers, they are also good watchdogs. Despite their fluffy coats, grooming is relatively easy with regular brushing and occasional baths.
