Deutscher Wachtelhund

The Deutscher Wachtelhund, also known as the German Spaniel, is a versatile and accomplished hunting dog originated in Germany. Developed around 1890 by Frederick Roberth, this breed is descended from the old German Stöberer, a popular hunting dog post the Revolutions of 1848. Known for its strong-willed nature and love of scent tracking, the Deutscher Wachtelhund is a medium-sized gundog with a thick, wavy coat that comes in shades of brown, often with white markings. It is primarily used for flushing game from underbrush and for tracking, and is recognized by the United Kennel Club in the Gun Dog group.
