Carolina Dog

The Carolina Dog, also known as the American Dingo or Dixie Dingo, is a medium-sized breed with distinctive characteristics. They have a long neck, wedge-shaped head with powerful jaws, almond-shaped eyes, and large, erect ears that are very mobile. Their coat is short and smooth, typically in shades of deep red ginger with pale buff markings. Known for their strong prey drive and pack mentality, they are intelligent, athletic, and relatively low-maintenance in terms of grooming. Carolina Dogs are devoted companions to their families but can be standoffish around strangers, making them suitable for active families who can provide consistent leadership and outdoor activities. They thrive in environments where they have space to explore and participate in activities such as jogging and hiking. Regular exercise and mental stimulation are essential for their happiness and well-being.
